Fall in Hollis: One of the Best Times to Experience the Community

September brings cooler mornings, farmstands overflowing with local produce, the first hints of foliage and one of Hollis' favorite community traditions: Old Home Days.

This year's celebration is scheduled for September 18 and 19, with a Friday night Block Party followed by Saturday activities including Homesteaders Village, the parade, events at Nichols Field and fireworks at dusk.

If you're thinking about moving to Hollis, events like this are also a great way to get a feel for the community beyond simply driving through neighborhoods and touring houses.

Spend an afternoon exploring town. Stop at a local farmstand. Walk a trail. Drive some of the back roads. Visit the town center. And if your timing is right, experience an event like Old Home Days.

Buying a home is obviously a financial decision, but you're also choosing the community that surrounds it.

That's especially true in a town like Hollis, where agriculture, outdoor recreation, local traditions and community involvement are very much part of everyday life.
