One-of-a-Kind: The Restaurant Chains New Hampshire Only Has One Of

by Christina Marmonti

Ever notice how some national restaurant chains are everywhere, while others have set up shop in New Hampshire just once? Granite Post recently rounded up the chains with a single Granite State location, and a few might surprise you.

Salt & Straw, the West Coast craft ice cream brand known for adventurous flavors, opened its first (and so far only) New England shop last July at Tuscan Village in Salem. Right nearby, that same shopping center is also home to New Hampshire's lone Capital Grille, a Providence-born steakhouse that arrived in January 2025.

Manchester's Mall of New Hampshire holds two more solo acts: a Cinnabon kiosk and a Dave & Buster's, the arcade-and-sports-bar chain that's been drawing crowds since it opened there in 2020.

Rounding out the list are Carrabba's Italian Grill in Bedford, Golden Corral in Manchester, Not Your Average Joe's in Nashua, and Wayback Burgers in Salem, each the only one of its kind in the state.

It's a fun reminder of how much local dining variety we have tucked into a small state, and how a single opening can become a genuine destination. Worth a visit if you haven't tried one yet.
